Installing MessageMagic
In order to use the MessageMagic software these are the steps you need to do:
- If you have previously installed Message Magic then remove them and delete all folders containing those versions before installing the new version.
- Go to your Windows Control Panel
- Select add/remove programs to remove the program (prior to v1.11 you also need to remove "setup" from add/remove programs
- Delete the folder c:tmp and whatever folder you stored the software.
- If you are new with us then you have a free 7 day trial period. You can use the full blown version of the software up to and including the last day you see in your profile in the field called License Expiry Date.
- After your free trial period the software reverts to a free version and the speed and useage becomes limited. If you want to continue using the full blown version of the software and gain all the extra benefits you will need to extend your License Expiry Date by paying for the right to use it. You can do that by using the payment link found on the left side of most pages. Just pick the best method of payment for you.
- You can download (right click and save-as... ) the MessageMagic software here: (http://www.messagemagic.net/MessageMagic.zip)
- Just follow the prompts as the installation progresses. The only area of confusion that MAY arise is when the installation software asks you for your username and password. What it's looking for is the email address and password you used when joining MessageMagic.
- Then run the software by clicking Start, All Programs, Message Magic. Then for the final piece... Enter "test" as a search pattern, click add, click search. This will create the event in Skype where you need to allow Message Magic to use Skype as an add-on. Look for the event under your name... if you don't see it there then click the red flag at the top right and it will show up.
- Open your main Skype window and on the bottom left you will see 2 arrows pointing in opposite directions... click on the arrows to pop up a window. MessageMagic.exe should be on that list and authorized to use Skype.
-
If it is there but not authorized to use Skype then simply authorize it by clicking Change, Allow this program to use Skype, OK, OK
If it is not on the list then look for a red flag on the top right of your main Skype window. If it's there click on it and follow the instructions to give MessageMagic.exe authorization to use Skype.
- If you're having grief getting the software up and running or if you have any questions at all please add webloot as a Skype contact (Grant Andrews) and get the assistance you need.
